How India V/s Srilanka Series can affect ICC Rating

Sunny
When India and Srilanka series started there was huge talk of #2 (in ICC Rating) Team V/s #7 (in rating). Many were predicting a clean wash in favour of Srilanka.

But India have bounced back strongly to win first 4 games and that too very comprehensly. I was just looking how this series can affect the ICC Ratings. If India manages to win the rest of matches too. India will move up to 5th place and Srilanka? make a guess ...7th Place lmfao from 2nd. Isn't that funny? hahaha

Btw you can predict the rating here http://www.icc-cricket.com/icc/odi/predictor.html

Thats why cricket is said to be a funny game.

I hope india manges a series wash against Sri Lanka. And also Ganguly should no find a place in the team Very Happy then surely we will rech bigger heights in the comming series.

Methinks Chappell is beginning to come good, what sayest thou?
And the team seems to be doing well under the Dravid leadership, so if that's what India needs (Ganguly out, Rahul in), then so be it, though personally, I would like to see a fighting Ganguly try to make a come back. Ganguly and Sachin firing full cylinders would still make the best opening pari, methinks... however, lately I've been thinking that Sehwag and Sachin going all cylinders is more ideal Very Happy

By the way, anyone notice how Sachin seems to have recovered his habit of going after the bowlers? I think that is the biggest gain this tournament. Personally, I think Chappell probably had something to do with it.

Dhoni is going to be the biggest discovery of this series. He showed his calibre in the Pak series with a 148. But then there were some 30s and 40s at a strike rate of 100+. Also in the mean time, his wicket keeping quality dropped considerably. Even in this series, he missed quite a few stumping chances. But he paid for all of that with just one innings. And his average shot up from 37 to 49.7.

Likewise we can certainly expect a sudden rise in the ratings for India. Now India is playing more like Team India.

Yes I did, Actually I think he's over doing it. I have a feeling hes trying to follow Sehwag or to be precise he wants to be more destructive then play an ancor sort of a role. I have a mixed feeling about it.

Now, did anyone notice or feel that there's a thinking in the team to play well and keep Ganguly out. I hate Ganguly, forget his batting, fielding, running bet. wickets. Just his lazy, political and uncommitted attitude is enough to keep him out.Unfortunately for him, new coach isn't as SOFT as last one.

PS: I've a feeling one of the frihost member is TOI (Times of India) reporter. I read this very news in the newspaper on the next day of my post.

This sure looks like a new indian team...they were very disappointing in few of the earlier series but here I don't know what got into them (and I don't care).
The thing to see is the way whole team esp the youngsters are playing and its great to have Tendular butchering the bowlers again.

Man, we should have atleast played Irfan Pathan in the fifth match to put pressure on their batsmen. It was a loss that could have easily been prevented. It's true we have won the series, but a 7-0 whitewash would have done a lot for the team morale.

7-0 wud have been excellent. What a convincing victory it wud have been.

Hmm... end of the final ODI! India wins 6-1. I say the team shouldnt have experimented with their players during the 5th ODI or they could have won all the 7 matches. Dhoni batted superbly today. Waiting to see how the team performs against the South Africans.

I heard two senior players from South Africa wont be coming to India due to fears of getting arrested by the Indian police(I ask, is that possible???).

Well yes. Police has all the right beta.

The only way a foreigner cannot be touched is under Diplomatic Immunity, and criketers for sure are no Diplomats Very Happy

yeah that is funny now that India has won the series 6-1. What ranking has India moved up to?

India is still at #7 (with a 107 rating) where as Srilanka has moved down to #4 (109). South Africa is at #2 now with a rating of 120. India can move up high to a good rating if they beat South Africa. When a team beats another team which has a high rating, the points they earn will be more.

There is an ICC Rank Predictor in the ICC site by which you can predict the ratings by inputing the possible match results.
