Just to put things into perspective the article is from 10th August 2010. I suggest you look at date of articles as one of the most valuable informations. That one is more than two years old article.

Anyway the article has little credibility when one reads someone talking about lightweight desktop using compiz. He could have used the adjetive "cool" or whatever that desktop configuration made him feel but "lightweight" is not knowing what he is talking about.

Actually, two or three years is not a whole lot in terms of window managers and dock software. I can't think of too many newcomers in that time. Anyway, even if there are other choices, the principles remain the same.

If the desktop specifications have not changed, the article is still up to date...

Nevertheless I've found it very informative.
