Linux Network

welshsteve
Hi everyone. I'm very new to linux and have never done anything technical with it. However, I currently have a few very old PCs that are no good for windows 7, and want to try and set up a test network using only linux. Is there a tutorial out there somewhere that can show me how to set up a server and workstation based network using linux? Just a small network say with one main "server" machine, and two workstation that authenticate to it.

You can try Zentyal with Samba to share some files. Or Debian with Samba for old machines. With Samba you can share files also with Windows.
