Wireless card

IndieCthulhu
Hey so I have been having a few issues with my wireless lately, i don't think it is my wireless card as I had the same problem with my old laptop. when I am browsing the net after a few days it gets to a point where i am connected to the router but with no internet access...

Not if i turn my wireless off then back on i have access for a few minutes, but if i fully restart the router it seems fine...

Why does this happen? Is it a cache filling up or just random failure?

How can i fix this without having to touch the router (hidden in my roomies room... don't exactly want to go in there... and yes i do pay for the internet...)

obviously, it is the router.

This happens with nearly every router I've used... maybe there is an id-ten-t error occuring with myself or there is just a stream of bad router luck happening to me

The symptom sounds similar to problems I've often seen. If it's occasional, I just reset whatever it takes (computer and/or router) and chalk it up to experience. Replacing the router usually eliminates the problem.

As for the problem of resetting the router when you don't have easy access, here's thinking out of the box (probably too far out):

1. Switch off the main breaker for the apartment.
2. Wait 30 seconds or so to insure everything is off and reset.
3. Restore main breaker, and wait for and/or manually power everything up.
4. (optional) Think up a good explanation for the power going off.

You know that would work very well, in a kinda strange way... I just... yeah, it seems a little sadistic in a small way... (house of 6 people)

You must select the router, this is the best option.
