New to Dreamweaver

Hello, i'm new to making webpages and i have a problem on the first step. See, i've made a layout which all went ok, sliced it up, uploaded it, and placed it into the homepage in a table. Now my problem is how do i insert text over the top of the layout, like for new content (news) on the mainpage? Or is there some sort of script where i can update the text?

You have to set the images which are sliced up in the background,so you can instert text there. I recommend you see more into the power of CSS. because in tables you will have a hard time getting everything exaclty like you want.

Those tutorials are a bit confusing, is there any tutorials that show how to be able to get text over your layout using dreamweaver tables?

but if you do that, you cant alter the position of the bakground. Normally, this results in your image being a lil further to the left once you upload.
