Your favorite smartphone apps

linux1993
What's your favorite smartphone apps? When you are free, which apps you will try to use it, Facebook or ...? I usually use UC Browser and Pocket, when I connect to wifi, I also like to use Flipboard whose using experience is very amazing!
Insanity
My favorite app is on my phone by default, and it's Google Maps. It's simply the one thing that I use the most often on my phone, and it's unbelievably helpful for me, since I get lost so often. I really don't know how I managed to get around in the days before I had a smartphone that had Google Maps. I think it's one of the ways technology has changed, so much so that it's almost impossible to get lost in a city if you have access to a smartphone.
badai
my most used apps are pure messenger (used as widget to display feed from facebook and twitter), RssDemon v2 (to read rss from various sources), truecaller (pretty cool caller id that will show name of unknown number), browser, whatsapp, gmail, gtalk, imo, spb time, dropbox, renotify, playerpro, bejeweled 2, es file explorer and sygic.

My favorite applications on my Galaxy Y are --

Google Map-- For easy navigation anywhere

Skype-- to talk with my relatives ( for free) who are staying abroad.

Alarm clock- To wake me up in necessity

App 2 SD-- to enhance the space

Gmail- To check my mail on the go

These are few of my favorite applications.

I seem to be making great use of the Steam app. Some of my friends don't have smartphone but they're always on Steam so I can usually pester them this way when I'm at work, helps me keep in touch. Apparently, if my computer was on at home and I bought a game through my phone I could start the download from my phone. With any luck the game would be installed and waiting for me when I came home.
Manualguidadex
My favorite app is Endomondo, to keep a track of my workouts. I also like Flashligh Extreme and Coming Next for my Nokia.

My favorite smartphone app is Evernote. It allows me to keep all of my ideas and notes organized in one place across various devices as it syncs them automatically on iPhones, Macs, and PCs. It's great a tool to have for productivity!

I do not have any favourite app but my favourite games are Angry Birds and Coin Dozer although I rarely use them. What about your favourite mobile browser? I like both the default browser and Google Chrome. I also heard that Dolphin Browser is good but I after trying it, I don't really like it.
_AVG_
I really like some of the pre-installed apps on the iPhone, the Clock, Reminders, Weather, etc. are very useful especially if one is traveling and needs to be organized.
foumy6
For android I enjoy a game called Plauge inc. Where you create different kind of diseases and spread them around the world mutating and evolving them. The point of the game is to kill everyone in the world before they find a cure . Twisted Evil

Otherwise I just use the basics like facebook, youtube, and gmail.

Though I do also enjoy the "FML" app. It can be good for a chuckle here and there. Along with that I use this site www.damnlol.com that has the app DAMNlol! on the google play/android store that is nice to just scroll through when im bored on my nexus 7.

Favorite smart phone apps. Humm!! Well I need to quickly get 10 points since I'm 7.74 in the hole because I have not been online much over the weekend. Had to move!!

So here it goes, Smart phone apps, the pdf reader I need for email from work, the encryption app that allows me to encrypt things I send and decrypt things I receive.

Of course maps and compass, but those are standard features not smart phone apps. I have a few special effects apps. but by far and away the applications I use the most are the ones I use for work and my job as a wireless network engineer. I have been looking for some apps on wireless links, anyone know of anything like that?

Today bought my brother and law a new phone. He hates smart phones. Prefers his phone to just do phoning and texting for a longer battery life as well. So I was wondering whether I would be able to find one that was low cost, reasonably up to date, preferably a Nokia, as Nokia for me is a specialist in what counts for me, i.e. phone and SMS. So was totally bowled over when I was able to find a Nokia - Nokia100 - that was not locked in, and that had the basic features, without all of the bells and whistles of a Smart Phone. I was totally intrigued that one could still find reasonably up to date Nokia phones that did only the basic things, i.e. phone and message.

Price was/is 22 USD. At that amazing price am planning to get one for myself too tomorrow.

There's an app a friend recommended to me and I've been hooked on it ever since. It is called, Alchemy Classic. It's a pretty clever game where first you start off with the 4 elements and then build your way up to more sophisticated organisms, machines, plants, animals and so forth.

It's a noodle cooker but if you're into being challenged, it's a game I highly recommend you check out when you have a chance. It's on the Android Market, excuse me... Google Play Razz and the best part is, It's totally free.

***WARNING*** There will be times of frustration as you try to combine different things to form other elements. Some are simple if you recall High School Chemistry, others are a bit more puzzling. So be prepared for head scratching as well as chin scratching. There is help though, with each combination you make you are awarded points. You can then use those points to buy hints.

I have an android phone so I don't know if this is available on Apples App Store, or Windows Phone Market place but for those of you who use Android, you should be able to find it.

My favorite apps (non-games) are the following:

Dropbox - it enables me to retrieve my files not just on my PC but on my mobile device as well.
Remember the Milk - it enables me to put things on my To Do list and not having to forget anything. It is also sync-able with its web version so I'd have the same updated list whether I'm in front of my computer or on the go.
NFL '13 - my game companion during the past season. If this does not update itself to NFL '14 this coming season, I guess I'm gonna have to manually get the next version.
Phoster - it enables me to create posters or magazine-like designs for the pictures I have taken.

My favourite is IPhone.
I have Apple Iphone 4s but it is working fine as I have been updating it. I best like the applications;the reminders and the Notes.
I also use HTC Desire but I don't like it as it is quite cumbersome to use. Also, the Android applications are not as simple as that of IPhone.

The only thing missing in IPhone is the facility to use USB and Bluetooth for transfer of data.

My favorite app on my smartphone is aNueNue. I know it's a weird sounding app but it's a super reliable ukulele tuner. It's free in the appstore too!

Some one was telling me about a new app out for buying a used car. You put in car details and scan the VIN number and it will tell you how much the dealer paid for the car at auction. As many dealers buy their car stock from car auctions it can be a handy as a bargaining tool. They do have an added cost though as all cars sold here have to have a safety inspection done and a safety certificate issued before it can be sold which can cost quite a lot. That is a plus when you are buying a car but a real pain when you want to sell.

I enjoy a lot of apps in my phone and there is no one single favorite for me.

My favorite ones are as follows:
Calling/texting app - Viber
Free texts app - Text+
Email app - Gmail
Note taking app - Freenote and Keep
Video Player - MX Player
Health/Exercise app - Cardio Trainer
News App - Flipboard
Also I'm trying to get some chinese language into my head so I enjoy the app called Pleco
And finally to connect my TV to my phone using DLNA I like this app called Skifta.

I think I don't have to mention that apps like google earth, maps, sky are my favorites as well and most of them come installed by default. I enjoy those google apps a lot.

My favorite Android app is an alarm clock called "Alarm Klock". I wouldn't be able to keep my routine going if it weren't for this magnificent utility. It's a very user-friendly app that allows you to do many things that you cannot do with other alarm apps (except calendar set alarms, it works only with days of the week). I'd post a link to its page, but I don't think it'd be appropriate in this forum.

Livescore Addicts is a very useful application to follow matches for people who love football. It has all the functionality needed and I am especially impressed by many alarm functions - when someone traces many teams like me, it is very easy to forget matches and this little piece of software has a great reminder of matches, can inform when the goal has been scored half-time result, full-time result etc.

One downside is that the wifi needs to be on all the time for the updates to come and we all know how long phone batteries last these days.

The c4droid app and aide.

Allow me to write apps anywhere with a bluetooth keyboard.

I like opera mini for smartphones. It reduce the bandwidth with something like compression server on the opera data center. UC browser is also looks like opera mini with same data compression feature. I do not really like play games on the phones or any kind of portable video game consoles since the scree is very small that will makes me difficult to play the games. Right now i don't have any smartphone, maybe someday i will have one of them. Smartphone is still expensive for me and still need development on the battery. I do not like to charge the smartphone's battery every day or even several times a day if i'm active enough using the smart phone. Right now is not the right time to have a smart phone for me. Right now i have a generic chinese mobile phone with opera mini classic installed. The opera mini application is quite good enough to handle my internet activity.

I am a lifelong fan of Opera browser for PC, so the first thing that I did after getting an Android phone was downloading Opera. Since it was so popular at the time (and its market share is marginal on PC), I expected it to be more polished compatibility-wise than the PC version, but I was very disappointed to be honest.

Many websites didn't display properly and I was surprised to find that the default internet Android browser rendered them more properly. Since it comes with tabs (a necessary feature even on small screens), there was no reason to keep Opera for me and I came back to the default option which (unlike IE on PC) is very good Smile

If you like Opera Mini so much, then you can give a browser app called UC Browser Mini a try as well. It is suitable for phones with smaller screens. It automatically optimizes web pages to fit perfectly on the screen. So you will be shown mobile like version of websites by this browser. I just discovered this browser recently.
