Is climate warming a miscalculation?

Is climate warming a miscalculation? I live in Finland and there is already plenty of snow and cold.

there are several contradictory theories about the subject some say is getting colder

We've just had a scientist doing a presentation over here who said it is a fact that it is getting warmer. Sort of makes sense too as industrial activity is increasing and more machines are operated than ever before. More oil and energy resources are used. Etc.

It's called global warming because the global temperature is going up. That doesn't mean the climate everywhere will get warmer. The weather system is quite complicated so it can be hard to predict what will happen locally. You can't draw any conclusions just from Finland having an early winter this year.

Right. Bottom line however is that the sea ice in the Arctic and Antarctic is melting at an accelerating rate. Apparently this may be having an effect on weather patterns causing extreme weather conditions.

Quote:
That assessment is mirrored by work at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting, based in the British town of Reading.

The centre's director-general, Alan Thorpe, said the link between the Arctic melt and European weather was complicated but it is now the subject of research.

"Where Arctic sea ice is reducing in summer - and if we have warmer than average sea surface temperatures in the north-west Atlantic - these twin factors together lead to storms being steered over the UK in summer which is not the normal situation and leads to our poorer summers."

But the research is in its earliest stages. For science, the Arctic itself is hard to decipher. The effects of its rapid melt are even tougher.

Because cold water comes down to the Atlantic and cause an interruption of the hot waters
If this for some reason happen the world will return to 1400 fights for land

Wonder what the Maldives will be doing as they are a sure case of losing their land.

russia ucrain etc will also lose their lands for ice same for portugal and spain

It is somewhat a misnomer to talk about "Global Warming" when obviously some parts of the planet are experiencing their coldest temperatures in decades.

Probably a more fortuitous term would be "Climate Change" in the sense that because of the increased human industrial activity, increasing the carbon footprint and reclaiming of wilderness for agricultural activities enough Greenhouse gasses have been released into the atmosphere have been released into the atmosphere to create the Greenhouse Effect which is not characterized only by warming, but also by extreme but localized cooling effects, where some regions are cooled way below their seasonal averages because of aberrations in the weather system itself.
