I was travelling on a train, when I spotted a punjabi in a turban. Suddenly a question arised in my mind, Who said the word turban for the first time?
A wikipedia search gave me the closest result:
The turban (Arabic عمامة; imamah, Turkish tülbent, Persian دلبنت; dulband) is a headdress, of obscure Oriental origin, consisting of a long scarf wound round the head or an inner hat.
But does anybody have an idea where this word originated? Who actually said it for the first time?
Anyone could throw some light !!!
