Magic Quotes GPC Off for Joomla 3.0

chrisdriscoll
After reading through a few forum posts it seems the only way to turn magic quotes off is "to have some custom php.ini directives for a user" which requires help from an admin.

Would you be able to set this for my domain please Bondings?

The forum posts I'm referring two are these,
http://www.frihost.com/forums/vt-143970.html#1117208
http://www.frihost.com/forums/vt-135756.html#1084350

It's also recommended to have Display Errors Off and Output Buffering Off but as neither of these are required I'm not as concerned with them.

Thank you!

It is quite impossible for Admins to set magic quotes off because we are all on shared hosting. Changes in php.in would affect other user's scripts also.

But, you can set this off by the help of ".htaccess" file.

Yea adding "php_flag magic_quotes_gpc Off" to the .htaccess file was the first thing I tried, as did the people in both of the threads linked above. The solutions both users found was to have an admin set custom php.ini directives for their domains.

At the moment I'm playing around with getting Joomla 3.0 working on my local machine so I'm not in a huge hurry or anything, but it'd be nice knowing I'll be able to host it here.
