how to extend cache of i7 laptops?

ghazanfar233
is there anyway to extend the cace.. like built in cache size is 3mb an I wana extent it to 6mb. is there any way?
william
Nope. The reason is because the cache is a part of the chip, and the only realistic way to upgrade it is by replacing the whole chip. A decade or two ago, you could find processors that had separate cache that interfaced much like how RAM modules do now. I haven't seen anything like that in recent computers, though.

I heared that intel gonna make L4 cache, whic will be availabale in market only for 3rd generation processors. i dont know reality behind this but if it is true then it will be a great move from intel..
