Logo in navigation bar

Does anyone know how to make an image (logo) appear in the navigation bar of the viewers browser when visiting your website? Like the "F" logo in front of http://www.frihost.com

I tried searching for an answer, but I couldn´t find it, so maybe you guys can help me..

you have to make an .ico file and rename it favicon.ico.
then put it in your index directory.
