If not it soulds like you have malware. I volunteer tech help on half a dozen other sites where I'm not flamed by lamers like around here. I advise you to find a friendly support-dedicated forum with HiJackThis experts.

If it takes more than 1 byte of memory and it's not helping your system then it is harmful.
