If you have made a nice new website, then go to:

http://validator.w3.org/

Here you got an online validator which checks you sourcecode for errors and slovenliness. You can upload your .html file or send the url through.
You can also choose your type of encoding and/or type of html language.

You can even place a kind of icon on you site if it passes the tests.

Its a nice tool to get your site allright till in detail

i use the firefox extension for validating sites.I even do not need to go to that webpage,it autmatocally does it for me. Cool!

And about validating....hahaha! I mostly am working on blogs and the blog scripts are not 100% w3c made,too bad.Because thei force to add a navbad with js. on the top of the page like blogger.com

LoL yeah that is pretty good, and i have used for a while, however, there are many unrecognised functions. On the other hand it has improved immensly since last year, lol there was a gasquillion unrecognised codes

I have 39 errors on my first page alone, and it's only got 6 graphics on it and some tables! Seems like a lot of the errors are very picky.

I use macromedia dreameaver for page creation and instantly validate there itself in dreamweaver before uploading. It also provides validation specific to browsers like IE5,Opera 7...etc. So we can optimize pages to display correctly in all browsers.
