I encountered another problem. Here is what the installation guide says to do:
| Code: |
5. Set permissions for the following directories:
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : data
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : data/database
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : data/media
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : data/thumbnails
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : data/tmp_media
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : data/tmp_thumbnails
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : templates
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : templates/default
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : templates/default/media
Set permissions for the following files:
chmod 666 (-rw-rw-rw-) : all files in the directory "templates/default"
chmod 666 (-rw-rw-rw-) : all files in the directory "templates/default/media"
You can do this with FTP programs such as CuteFTP or WS_FTP. |
Well I have no idea how to set permissions.

Go to your DirectAdmin file manager. On the bottom there is a box with the file permission.
Also, don't change it to 777, but instead use 755.
Ok, well they were all already at 755, so I guess I didnt even have to do that. Im still getting the error message though
This
| Quote: |
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : templates
chmod 777 (drwxrwxrwx) : templates/default |
refers to RECURSIVE directories. Not using DirecAdm myself I cannot speak to the features. But simply changing the permissions of ./templates/ will not effect a change of ./templates/default/ in all likelyhood. You get to do that manually.
Alternatively, and I risk yet another warning by being so helpful, you can use FlashFXP
http://flashfxp.com
to recursively change permissions
Be sure to make your ticks match those in my screen captures.
thanks gonzo, but it still isnt working.
can someone help me, i still cant get the stupid thing to work.
Well what error are you getting?
Its the same error Ive been getting the whole time:
| Code: |
