How can I create my own error pages...

sawdclan
I have deleted my 404.shtml file and the other error files.
Could someone please upload the original frihost error codes for 404 etc? Later I will replace the codes with my own information
Also, is shtml a language or a file type written in html? If it's the first one, please tell me a bit of the basics.

Thank you

Have deleted your 404.shtml file? Well, follow the steps bellow.
1. Go to your DirectAdmin/cPanel by visiting http://www.frihost.org:2222/
2. Go to Domain Setup
3. Delete the domain name you are using.
4. After a while, Add the domain name you just deleted.
5. Check your file..
Well, I thought this might work, Frihost would generate the default files once a new domain name is added.(So, I guess you can also add a new domain and copy the files to the old domain)

Deleting the domain and reading it should recreate the files. It does for me.

I may be missing something here but can't you just add this line to your .htaccess file

Code:
ErrorDocument 404 /dir/yourerrordoc.html

You are correct, you can use custom error pages thru htaccess.
