What kind of problems are you having when you try to open our homepage with Firefox? This should definitely not happen. Which version of Firefox do you use? Do you also get this on our forums?

About the different browsers, the most popular ones are Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer.

What kind of problems are you having when you try to open our homepage with Firefox?

It is shown the page of the provider or the page of the router.
This sounds like the connection is not possible.

Some homepages I can open with 20 times reload.
It sounds like the other server is down.
But sometime I am changing the browser and then I can open the homepage.

You are right, this should not happen.

Thank You for help.

May or may not help but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox? Also if there is a newer version then try installing it. Before reinstalling, if you know how, delete the registry info for Firefox

Is something slowing down your internet connection, a spyware or sth?

I used until 2011 windos
Now I am using Linux.
And the problem happens
with all distributions
and
for example www.abc.com
is reachable witz
ff but not with chrome and
also sometime arora is opening and
firefox cannot open.

Very often when I do
reload reload then it is working.

This sounds like the server of the url abc.com is busy.

I was reaging I should change something with about-config.

Another question:
How should I say
every browser not collecting garbage.

Surfing win I used ccleaner and atf
for clean hd every week
because ie and ff collected 10 gb garbage
most time millions of files with 1kb.

Until today my impression is
Linux is not doing that.

Thank You for help.

May not help but have you checked for malware and viruses?

How can I control it in Linux?
I also use live cd without install
is there also a virus possible?
Thank You for help.

Another browser problem:

I am writing in the browser an email

emailad@provider.com

next day I am writing

e...

and the browser is adding:

emailad@provider.com

Can I influence that?

Regards.

As you are using a live cd i think there is a problem with the driver of your lan or wireless lan adapter which causes your internet connection to slow down. my suggestion is to install the distro you want and then check to see if everything is working fine. the default browser which comes with any distro is always capable of getting some setting automatically without need of any info to be entered by you but any other browser you install will need those info.

By the way how you install other browsers ?! do you install them using software manager in ubuntu or same things in other distros ?! i ask these because i think you are installing them using internet and this means there should be no problem with your internet connection and adapter driver.

Thank You for help.

I am using both:
live cds and installed Linux
This computer ist xubuntu pangolin
and I used for example
Slitaz live cd.
The problem is the same.

I do install
sudo apt-get install firefox

"As you are using a live cd i think there is a problem with the driver of your lan or wireless lan adapter which causes your internet connection to slow down"

Something like this is possible and sounds well.

I do not use lan or wlan
I am using dsl and only cable connection.

I am using dsl 6000
and I visites homepages
which control the speed.
Somme times it is 5,999 or 400
but the problem is the same
because I expected slow speed of lazy provider will cause the problem.
But this is wrong.

What does confuse me?

page abc.com unable to connect with browser a
but browser b can open it
and very oft 5 minutes later all browsers can open url abc.com.

Thank You for patience and help.
