The latest challenger to Internet Explorer and Firefox aims to beat the big guys by emphasizing blogging, networking, and online communities From So there we have another Browser “FLOCK” Its Still in beta version and is has been released to only a few.
The Browser Wars seems to Go On and On
service :
And this One seems Pretty darn interesting its been Termed as a “Social Browser” which means that you can use the browser directly to post on Flickr like Flickr, Technorati and del.icio.us . and any other application that supports a Web service other examples would include Blogging tools Like Wordpress, B2evolution, Blogger which all support XML-RPC or some kind of XML API

I'm not much of a blogger... but I'll check out the browser anyway...
Ah I need to download it... and no preview picture either.. I think I'd rather wait till they release a beta or something
I've heard of the flock before. It looks interesting to say the least. I'm thinking about giving it a try someday, even though I'm not much of a blogger.
I'm going to wait for at the very least, a screenshot, before I consider downloading it. I personally don't think that it will be able to hold it's own against Firefox. Firefox is simply too good, very customizable and all. Let me put it this way, you'd be hurting yourself if you got anything other than Firefox.
Well, downloaded, installed, and what do i see? they use firefox's source code
I've made a screenshot:

well i just need a browser to surf
so i will keep my IE which is the best ,

Opera > IE > Firefox
That's how it is.
I'm not to sure about this new one though.

Meh, I really don't like either one. Whatever way you spin it though, Opera comes out on top.

Actually, Opera is a low-budget wanna-be version of FF IMNSHO.
I'd raither run IE with tight security that Opera.
I really hate having different browers, from a web developer's standpoint. Its just another compatibility iddue to worry about.
i was really irritated with my forum member , when they used to go gaga about FF and opera ,
but i never liked those , so this time i wanted to test IE ,
i formatted my pc , installed WINXP SP2 final with all the patches , used windows firewall and mcafee antivirus and nothing else ,
its been a month like this , but no sign of spyware or adware yet ,
even if it comes , i would rather use a spysweaper , than go in for another browser ,
IE works Great , it is only the False Publicity of FF and Opera , that made IE look bad ,
in the last year , FF has more security issues then IE almost Double ,
Opera dint have that , cuz they dont really tell anyone about it
ALL i want to say is the best Browser for you is the One u like ,let it BE IE ,FF or Opera

I agree that Opera is the best but FF is better than IE. It really is faster and being open-source is a plus (though opera isn't open-source either). Many of the Loung Lizards agree with the Opera > FF > IE order of placement.

Amazing...
When I used IE I ended up with some much of it that it cripled IE. That was what got me to use anti-spyware apps. I also began to use Mozilla Suite at that point. Firefox was a minor browser then and at the time all I knew about was Mozzila (from playing with redhat 8.0), IE, and Netscape. Netscape is (or a least was) full of memory leaks and took too long to download. I use Mozilla for a while and then really got into web development and found out about Opera and got it. It lay unused for awhile but now it is the only browser I use.
Firefox is perfect why would you want / need anything else?
I like the method Opera uses for tabbed browsing the most. Every popup is a new tab.
browsing with opera or ie is like having sex with a ******
i prefer free se and software
well, opera is free of harge, but still not free as in free speech
i wouldnt use it
This new browser looks very similar to firefox, except a different default skin.
When a site i regularly use got attacked with a virus, everyone running IE had recieved the virus, while firefox had not. When i loaded it in firefox the page was just blank but people loading in IE had some dodgy porn ads and a virus due to it.
Overall i prefer firefox, opera isnt a bad browser. Netscape i find to be too commercialised and a mix of IE and firefox.
Eh... It's still beta, but it semms OK. I'll give it a shot, maybe it's really good...
@ browserwarwannabes,
I think everybody should choose the favorite browser on his/her own. Every browser has special advantages and disadvantages.
For me as a webmaster firefox offers the best way to personalize it for surfing, but IE offers the best possibillities to code pagedesigns and javascripting, but I also use Netscape and Opera to check my pages running on multiple systems.
So one can`t say this one or that one is better. We are all lucky to have the choice.
STOP WAR and specially BROWSERWARS. Do not discriminate a user by thinking: Tell me what browser you use and I tell you what kind of person you are.
It`s a kind of web racism. You all have to stop all kinds of racism.
Shaking the head, morningstar
I downloaded it, and it was almost the sames as ff just that it was 80% slower..
but i my self prefer Avant Browser and FF

Firefox also has a method where all pop ups go to a new tab
I must admit that I like firefox... however, I am finding more and more that hackers and internet mean people are starting to get past their once very formidable popup blocker and security features. With that being said, I always have problems with FTP on it too, so I use IE instead for that.
mybe ill check it...
Both flock and netscape are just rebrandings of firefox. The reason that firefox had more security problems is that Mozilla are honest unlike Microsoft. Mozilla will report all bugs but Microsoft's bugs will get lost at some point.

Nobody / Nothing is perfect

Shutup, it's perfect in my opinion,
And has any other browser got all the advantages / extensions / themes that FF has?, Like Adblock and Gmail notifier.

Ricky,
You are just too much.
When are you gonna listen to me ?
Really,c'mon Opera makes life so much easier with all those features.
IE has no features, crashes too much(and when it does it oftren freezes entire OS) and is vulnerable.
Why would you want to use IE?
May I ask what your problem is with Firefox? I think it's the best browser in town today. (maybe it's because I do not know better)
Grtz.
Compared to IE and FF I prefer FF but most of the websites is designed to fit ti IE than any other browsers becoz of the OS. Most of them using microsoft so IE comes with it. So I conclude IE 7.0 is still on the way.

uh no. Only flock and firefox share the same codebase. Netscape has been bastardized by the AOL domination consortium. Flock takes the current stable firefox and adds some extensions and tweaks. Hopefully, unlike stumbleupon, it's run by folks of integrity.

Personally i prefer Opera browser. Tried Firefox but just don't like installing extension one by one. Opera comes all the features that i need which is why i choose Opera.
Can't wait for Opera 9 to be out which is currently under preview.
