Okay. I guess Bondings would know what to do. Or what on earth that does.
n0ob u could have explained what that change in the code is for..
Be Well
Well, Bondings would know it on the first look.
But anyway, all it does is remove the "New topic" button in viewtopic.php. And Bockman should know how evil is the new topic button there.

Heh.. i'm not that good (awfull really) in php code. but that part has my full support... that damn button never should have been there in the first place.
Be Well
where did php come intot he topic?
Anyway which new topic button dont you like? The top ot the bottom. I'm guessing the bottom in which case fair enough but still I have to ask whats the problem with it?
Well, I said to replace both

the idea would be to remove both, since it confuses users that are not forum leets and sometimes they click on the new topic button instead of the reply button.
This would only remove the new topic button when you are viewing a topic, not on view forum.

P.S. - mathiaus, i was referring to coding phpBB. i'm mostly a "pre-made stuff" man when it comes to webdesign, 'cos i don't have the available time to study it.
I've used the New Topic button accidentally when trying to reply to a topic (not here but another forum) and I say good riddance to both new topic buttons inside existing topics.
I like the idea.
But is it REALLY needed?
Stuff that, Bondings, im all for it.
I'm all for it. Nothing worse than an out of context reply as a new topic....
Yup. Great idea! It got my full support. It's very confusing, and I even bearly clicked on this button when I replyed.
That's a rather smart idea you have Noobie4life.
I feel great. My idea is loved.
When will it be implemented..?
i dont care. if one can reach this place and have hosting, i would expect him/her to atleast know the difference between New Topic & New Post.
But if you guys & maybe bondings feels it will help in reducing spam & stuff it, i dont care.
I dont care if this is implemented or not

You'd be surprised!
There are some people who manage to find their way to the site, register and everything... and then they have to request for their accounts, and need to write Site Descriptions in English.... they can't!
Anyway, as for the suggestion, I think it's brilliant. I've seen even the most experienced of Frihosters making the mistake of clicking on "New Topic" rather than "Post Reply"... I say it should be implemented yesterday
Nice suggestion noobie. And, yes, even I made that mistake a few times.
Anyway, I hope you like it now.
A lot better now. Maybe many of us wont make the mistake.
Hope everyone is happy
Good idea, I've clicked that before (you know, you just read something, and quickly click without looking). Just out of curriousity, is that in Olympus? Not that it's a huge change, but just wondering.
Like it!
honestly i could say it was the one of the my best attack when i decided to write an answer to forum soon what i was hearing was '' what this guy talks about?? ( crazy?)-
There gonna be not same mistakes again..
And What about the new idea(not breathcutting as n0obie4life's sure
)
creating a new point(never on answer page!) which called Friendships of the old new topic button?(i m not serious, really
)
Okay its implemented.
And no idea if its going to be on Oylumpus as it depends on the new template that they refuse to releeease
. The current template at area51.phpbb.com is not the actual template coming out with phpBB 3.x
