y should you be ashamed to use 56kbps internet connection? I am using a GPRS connection at 33 kbps. By the way i have a solution for you. This problem happens when you store the gmail password in your browser's password manager. try deleting the password for gmail in your browser then delete the temporary internet files, cookies and all that stuff. Then go to your IE and then set the security settings to the default. Lowering the security settings will make your computer more vulnerable and not solve this problem.
I had the same problem and the above did work for me.
