What do you think will happen to your soul after body death?
Will your soul without a body cease to exist? Or will it go to some other plane of existece, like heaven or hell?. Or will you be born again (reincanated in a different body)? Or will your soul join the soul of multiverse, losing its individuality, but still existing as a part of whole? Or any other opinion? izcool
This is my own personal belief, everyone is entitled to their beliefs. I would say that there is no afterlife. I don't remember being reincarnated from another body in a past life or anything, I think when you die, you just die, cease to exist. If the population of the Earth is expanding all the time, wouldn't new lives have to be made then, instead of recycling the same ones over and over again ?

die
Nameless
I belive that there is no such thing as a soul anyway, so cease to exist would be the closest.

I really don't know what to think.
I have a deal with my mother (she died last year) that she should try to get in touch somehow,,, nothing has happened yet (maybe I'm not paying attention). So I have another deal with my kids that when I die, they put a Visa Card in there with me so if I end up in a nice Club, at least I can have a cold beer =)) Ya just never know *L^ 4nan4
Will loose its individuality and become part of multiverse

I'll see when I get there.
But as so far as belief goes I believe in Physics the most plausable explanation, therefore seems the right one, if I'm wrong then fairs fair, ritola
I also don"t believe there is a soul that can go elswere if ypur body has died so I think your life and wen your die

I have very complex ideas about Death and the afterlife. Whether I get reincarnated or go to "heaven" depends on a lot of complicated factors... I wish I could choose 2 answers in your poll.
However, rest assured I believe in the afterlife. joshua_erceg
Hmmm.... I would like to think that I would go to heaven...

God is made up by humans, because they could not explain everything.
For everything they can't explain they refer to god. Can you imagine that do not exist anymore tomorrow? No you can't! Problably to explain what happens after death humans made up the afterlife. Simulator
I don't believe in God, I think (my opinion, not reflecting on people in a religion) That it is a scam, that you are born into. I couldn't be arsed to explain it all over again, so just replace a few words with religion and you will get my point:
You think communism is a bad thing because you where told it, you where brought up knowing it, but yet you say you don’t know a lot about it, so then how can you say its bad…. In war, people on both sides die, the people who win, often kill more, so who are the good guys? Like God, you can’t really believe in him if you don’t know all the facts, but yet most people do, why? Because this is all they know, they never experienced another god(s), not enough people know enough about communism to say it’s a bad thing, the only thing that was wrong was the people who ruled it. odinstag
My body will die, but my spirit has been passed on through my genes to my children. After life is exactly that. It's what happens after your life. Some people live on in fame, some in lament. Call it heaven or hell if you like, you won't be the one living through it.

I believe there is something like soul or metempsychosis, maybe this is lack of scientific basis, but I believe.

I don't believe in a God (or God's), the afterlife, a soul, or anything like that either, I see the whole thing as being st*%id (this is a personal belief, so don't challenge me on it, it wont make a difference. However I am not trying to offend those that do believe in a God). Basically i see the bible as "stories" that were made up by people to frighten children into being good, and I think that due to the high level of superstition at that time, these "stories" affected adults as well as the children, and as time went on they became a religion. (I haven't actually been bothered to pick up a bible, let alone read one, so please excuse me if this is wrong) there was a story in the bible about someone seeing Jesus walking on water. this can be explained one way with the whole heat wave thingy

God is as much a reality as we are ... But how much are we real , existing .. there is no measure except you can weigh, feel mass and you mistake that as real .. because the word real itself is lot less in scope, the way we use it , there is no meaning in using it to define GOD, all i can say is if one's mind (character and heart, not the beating one) is soft and sweet and also strong and determined as you cannot imagine then he has realised God, he believes in god and he is near God and he can witness God in whatever he sees, does, hears and feels and also thinks ..
We human beings are limited in vision, confidence nowadays is dependent on pride and money one has rather than the strong faith in god ..... Its the technologically advanced age of utter destruction and chaos. Intelligence rules everywhere , it tears apart hearts and glorifies the wrong message of animal kingdom, "survival of the fittest" . But after all this we think to ourselves with our limited minds, whats with all these that i enjoy if i am to cease to exist one day ... that is tha time we think a little bit deeper , maybe if god has graced, you will have the LUCK to discover him/her/it soon. thiamshui
I am not a Christian but I heard from Christian devotees that in order to live forever, one should join Christianity. Human is seperated from God by sins. However, Jesus Christ, son of God is willing to suffer for us, atone for our mistakes and forgive us. This way, we will be sin-free and we will be able to go up to Heaven and join God to live forever after we 'die'.
I personally do not really believe this. Is it true that there is eternity in life? rexrae
I am not a Christian either , i am hindu (don't believe my user-name) . I believe and experience a constancy of life energy within me .. This constancy is itself eternity of life ... if you reach a point where you cannot be changed by anything external then you have reached that constancy or eternity or immortality .. But physical body is not immortal , one tight blow is all it takes to impair and maybe kill it, what is to be eternal and constant and immortal is your inside yourself, your spirit , you can only feel it deeply if you lead a spiritually rich life .. or a compassionate and kind life .. this spirit is a mix of mind, character, thought , feelings, emotions, intelligence and heart...Finally when this spirit attains constancy it will reach a point where it will only have love and faith towards anything .. and those are its muscles or strengths .. The cosmic rule of eternal life is love itself ... BUT PURE LOVE ..unconditional love .. not SEX love
one doesn't have to be Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Jew or any other to walk towards god , he only needs to be spiritual .. breathless-whisper
I put "will reincarnate in a different body". Why? Well, i'm in a leadership class and religion class which we discuss about life afterdeath, where are souls go after our death, etc., etc., and usually, our classes get boring sometimes (but my leadership class is really good) and my teacher brought up about our souls. Like, What is a soul? Where does it go once we're gone on earth?
All of us in our class had some theories. BIG discussions and debating. It was real good actually because i had fun. I mostly sat and listened to their theories which all were good and questionable. But what attracted my attention was our souls reincarnating in a different body. Few of my classmates said that we do not own our souls. God owns it and once we are finished with it, it will go to another body so that body could live. And so the chains goes on and on. Another one was our soul joining other souls. If we live avoiding others, doesn't care about yourself or the world, our souls will be by itself. No souls will be with your soul, just itself. Your soul get stuck by itself and no other souls is around it. You get lonely and depressing. That's the meaning of hell. The meaning of heaven, however, is that you lived satisfied in the world even if everything wasn't perfect or if your life didn't turn out to be the way you wanted it to be. Once we face death, our souls will be joining other souls who are also satisfied with their world-life. Just as long we are all happy (not always) our souls will be located where it is suppose to be. But if we have lots of grudging to others and thinks the worl negatively...our souls will be living in hell. However, i think it depends what you believe in. If you belive that your soul will be with God after death, then that's where you'll end up in. If you believe that your soul will reincarnate to another body, then that's probably what your soul will be ending up doing. But we'll never know. I mean how many people came back after death to tell us what's going to happen to our soul after we leave this world? How many people came back after death to tell us what were suppose to believe in? None. It's all about our beliefs. But then again, we would never know. SNES350
I believe in heaven/hell awaiting us in the "aftelife", since I am a Catholic. IMO if a soul would simply be destroyed when the person's life came to an end, it wouldn't be a soul at all. A soul is everlasting, with or without a body. Also I believe that no matter your religion, as long as it doesn't involve morally wrong practices, will not restrict you from going to heaven when you die.

Whats the point of believing in life after death , when we know that we wud come to know bout it only after we DIE ( plus there aint no gaurantee bout it, that sumthing like that mite happen /exist ) .

Since there's so much topics out there on religion and science, here's one to directly hit the issue.
The question of the afterlife raises the following questions: 1) Is there a God 2) Is there a soul 3) Is there justice I would say 1) Intelligent Design, the Bible, prophecies, miracles, human destiny all indicate a God 2) Did God create the universe like clockwork to run on its own evolutionary time, and give no special role for mankind, or does mankind have a soul (The image/likeness of God) which makes him special. Or in the Buddha tradition is it karma that we all have a deep inner being that needs' to be realised. 3) Justice in terms of hell/ heaven/ reincarnation. If we all live good lives the afterlife will reward us with a new better life. From a belief perspective. There is always an element of doubt in the afterlife coz after seeing so much atheism and evolution, we could see death is the end, and there is nothing real about souls and spirits coz it doesn't physically exist. But deep down there is a longing for meaning and purpose, and on my deathbed my meaning and purpose is fulfilled in the afterlife. windval
i think we will go to heaven or hell when we are dead
Silentrob
I'm a christian so im going with the hell and heaven. I kinda doubt the re-incarnate thing because you'd be re-incarnated into everything other than another human because otherwise we'd all know what happens when we die by now.

heaven>> ?? PuNGS
Actually I don't believe there's a soul inside us... It just don't make sense. Why do we have souls and animals don't? I think it's human egoism to believe we have a soul...
For the question, I think you die and everything ends... Just like if you were sleeping, you lose conscience and that's all. OutlawSpirit
its what u make it
i thought there was nothin a while ago... now i think there is something afterwards Vrythramax
I believe my soul will go to either Heaven or Hell. I don't think justice has anything to do with the final choice, but moreover how I have lived my life. I don't believe in reincarnation so that possibility is out of the question for me anyway.
I was raised in the belief that you have one life and one soul, you can't really decide how your life will end up (early death by illness or accident being a couple of examples), but you are in control of how your soul is treated after you die. Make the right choices in life and you need not worry about your soul...don't and you pay the consequences. robi
Well this is how I think of life after death.
I think I lived before I was born, and I dont mean 9 months before I was born, but I dont know, as an animal, or another human beeing. I think, right after you die, you get born as something else. But after you get born, you dont remember what was before that, like a new page. Probably after I'll die, I'll be born as another baby Enjoy, have a nice day SkullPizza
Well, I can't prove anything obviously. But a logical extrapolation would be that if you believe in a spirit then there is something eternal about you, and if you beilieve in the laws of science there is something eternal about you. Think about it, if matter can neither be created nor destroyed and you are just the sum of your component parts then something about what you are is eternal. Of course who knows truly, but it's an interesting point in my opinion.

I think i was jeremiah in my past life.. pecad0re
If humans reincarnate after death, so do dogs, cats, elaphants, giraffes, donkeys, horses, and even bees! lol So can you imagine what heaven is like if all of these have gone to the same place (heaven) after dying? lol Wouldnt heaven get a bit over limit? lol I have no idea, but i think people have a lot of imagination when they say they saw ghosts, or that a house is haunted. Just because someone died, doesnt mean thy will be ghosts. I mean, I have a dog, when he dies will my house become haunted by my dog? I never heard of ghost dogs! lol

I believe that we'll resurrect in a new body, i believe it because i want it...

we should have a soul, else why do ghosts and spirits exist? i believe in the existence of ghosts n spirits and i feel that we will live as souls after we pass away in the same world, yet in another 'domain'..

I prefer not to get caught up in the debate over religious belief because those conversations (sometimes heated arguments) go round and round without much closure or concession.
I prefer to identify with what most human beings can see and agree; that is, manifest creation (however it came into being) evidences “intelligence.” For example, electrons that spin around its neutron “know” which way to spin. Their orbit is not random, but ordered and intelligent. In fact all most of humanity will concede that all manifest reality is supported by both manifest and unmanifest intelligence – intelligence of an extremely high order. Given the recognition this superior intelligence exists, I am not troubled nor worry about what form I will take after death, or if its multiverse, or whatever. Suffice it to say, the “Intelligence” has an intelligent order or plan for life and death. No need worry… Related topics
