PCI x16 slot

Sh3raz
Hey!

I was gonna buy a gtx570, and it says in the specification its for PCI x16 2.0 slots
My motherboard (m4n68t - pro) I believe is PCI x16 1.0 slot
I havnt found a definite answer online after searching, so can someone clarify for me please?
Will a graphics card meant for a PCI X16 2.0 slot work in a PCI X16 1.0 slot? (and does someone know what PCI X16 slot my motherboard has?) (Im on Windows 7)

Thanks very much Smile

Your motherboard certainly has a PCI express x16 slot. Whether it's 1.0 or 2.0 isn't obvious on ASUS' website, although it shouldn't matter much. Cards that are compatible with 2.0 are usually compatible with 1.0 as well. The only difference is that 2.0 has a higher transfer rate than 1.0. Either there won't be a noticeable difference or the GPU will be a bit slower than anticipated due to being bottlenecked by the slot, but it should work regardless.
