maan. ull have to learn photoshop bfore u can design ur signature's. I mean, designing signatures is like an ordinary learning procedure, but neways, to learn Photoshop, you need tutorials. So it now comes down to your question!

Ur gonna find Special Effect tutorials, which are the ESSENCE of a signature.
Lemme tell you a few basics bfore designing sig's (if u already know basics, dont tell me!)
Evrything in adobe photoshop runs on Layers. Every Image and Text, vector or rasterized is in Layers, which makes it easier to handle
Files can be saved in PSD WITH the layers, for eiditing later, but in JPEG, BMP etc if you dont wanna edit it later.
The easiest way of sizing your Signature is quite simple... Create a new Image with a white background of 640x480 resolution, and use the crop tool to size your signature, (no need to get into the math of sizing! )
Shadow's/Glow's/Bevel's special effects can be found within Photoshop CS and 7.0 So you dont need to download plugins for these effects

Rafe is right. that website he gave is a very informative one if you want to improve yourself on the application aspect.
However, i wouldn't recommend it if your a real photoshop noob. You gota have at least a fair amount of knowledge with the program to learn those advance applications.

I use Good-Tutorials quite often. Though a FEW of their links might not work, the majority of the site is great! And there's probably every single tutorial possible on Adobe. But like many others said before me, you HAVE to at least know the basics. If not, the tutorials will come as a huge WOW to you, and Photoshop will just be pointless.
