I want to put forums onto my website. Is it easiest to make them through JAVA, PHP or ASP or are there any good free providers out there that I could use. I dont want ads on it tho, so thats why i was drifting onto making my own!

yeah,Php is a good choice.JSP is uesd for large system.
And there are plenty of premaded php forums! With all the nice skin that you can use to make your forum looks nicer. Also, Some of the forums available for free are matures and can be used with not much concern about security.

PHPbb works great and are free. Thats what Frihost uses. It is 100% customizable too.
