In my country (Peland) "i" is being read as "e" in english so reading "Frihost" in half-polish english sounds like "freehost" - So this domain is well-remmembered to Poles. and I like it Wink
Bondings
Like chorazy said, "i" is read as "ee" (freehost) in many countries and languages. It's also the abbreviation of Free Reliable Internet HOSTing.
chorazy
Oh - that's good - Reliable - by the way - was the server out in the last time? I don't believe it is On all and all - but I didn't see any Offline moments.

So it's very big + for FRIHost. (another one)

I always thought it just meant "free"

You mean you have never heard of a man FRIday ?
Robinson Crusoe and all that Smile Man Friday did most of the boring tasks.

And I do believe - being a server is a boring task Smile

You come from Indonesia? I'm Vietnamese. Very Happy
In VN, we not use "fri" as "free", but I can recognize that "FriHost" means "FreeHost".
However, we don't use English as frist language like people here.
That's why I can't see Vietnamese here.

The Swedish the word fri mean in English free.
In this case, it means that the word frihost has the same meaning as freehost.

Someone had to dig deep for this post!! But it's a good one, kinda like the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything" for Frihost anyway.

No seriously i think it's obvious it stands for free, as you are free of most constraints other free hosts offer, and that, well, it's kinda free ! Very Happy

fri and free and the nordic language... the word Free comes from the word fri in the nordic language. The Vikings brought that upon the english people. I have heard the a third of the words in the english language are from that heritage.

Then we have the word window, that came with the viking-word vindoga i.e. wind eye. But in the Swedish language we use fonster instead today, we took it from the word fenestro from another language later on.

And the swedish meatballs are a dish from turkey that we stole aso... Laughing

Peland or Poland?

And in Spanish too! We read it as "freehost", so I guess the fri represents 'free' (I'm not sure, though, we'd have to ask Bondings to tell us!
harrer
I figured it as free when I read good reviews on a hosting discussion site.
