Side question -
I created through MySQL Management a db for phplist. It is empty of data.
phplist is supposed to initialize when browser is pointed to:
However, I receive a 404 Not Found error.
Does this mean my db is not being seen, or, an ideas?
You normally don't need to use the public_html in your url. I would try yourdomain.com/lists/ ?
Also a reminder that you're not using an actual file name in your URL either, so you can check that too in case you need to add another file type to the list of available index file types.
Index .htm/html/php/asp should all work. One helpful thing that I did on my server is parse html as php because I don't use flat html files any more. This obscures the language that I'm using to accomplish my server side scripts from hackers, but even this change won't stop the index file from showing when present in the directory, and excluded from the URL.
phplist advised me to remove from lists/.htaccess file the last line with php_flag in it.
I did so and got:
Database error 1146 errors, which phplist says this:
1c. Database Error 1146 Database error 1146 while doing query Table 'database.phplist_user_blacklist_data' doesn't exist.
This occurs AFTER you have initialised the database (as at item 1 above).
A user fix is available thanks to AlexDimitrov and Heritage. Believed to be due to your host using MySQL5 and upwards. Apply the code below to your phpList database using phpMyAdmin via your webspace control panel.
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `phplist_user_blacklist_data`;
CREATE TABLE `phplist_user_blacklist_data` (
`email` varchar(255) NOT NULL default '',
`name` varchar(100) default NULL,
UNIQUE KEY `email` (`email`)
I didn't see where to do this in phpMyAdmin, is this something Frihost mod.s?
If you go to phpMyAdmin, there should be an sql tab (or similar) where you can paste that code and click on execute.
