Directadmin folder/file creating permission for Joomla

Keran
Hello,

I've recently installed Joomla on my frihost account, it works alright, up untill I try to install a template or a module (via the web installer in Joomla).
Then I get a permission error, it seems directadmin doesn't allow Joomla to create folders or files on it's own.

Usually the error is:
Code:

JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Copy failed
JInstaller: :Install: Failed to copy file...

I tried putting 777 permission on each folder in the Joomla directory in directadmin, but it doesn't work everytime...

My question is: can I permit my Joomla to freely create folders/files for installing modules etc.?

I have no problems at all. If i install a extension or template through the backend, joomla creates the necessary folders without any problems.

Try the following

Upload the template or extension in the tmp folder and unzip it. Go to the Extension Manager and try to install from the tmp directory. Please let me know if this solves your problem.
