Something has gone wrong at a remote scientific research station on Mars. All research has ceased. Communication has failed. And the messages that do get through are less than comforting. It's a level 5 quarantine and the only souls allowed in or out are the Rapid Response Tactical Squad - hardened Marines armed to the teeth with enough firepower to neutralize the enemy...or so they think. The research being done at Odluval station has unwittingly opened a door and all hell has broken loose. A legion of nightmarish creatures of unknown origin lurk behind every wall and stalk the countless rooms and tunnels of the facility, killing what few people remain.

Sealing off the portal to Earth, Sarge (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), Reaper (Karl Urban) and their team must use every weapon at their disposal - and some they find along the way - to carry out their orders: nothing gets out alive.

1) Why is this in World News?
2) Why don't you have your opinion on it?
3) This is a repost.
4) I'm looking forward to it. I've loved Doom for years.

is it really good news?

not a big fan of Doom 3 (should be called Darkness Falls really, it's also Pitch Black Rolling Eyes ) but I've played since the original when it was just kickass

the movie doesn't look that appealing, and that whole "first person view" from the trailer looks like it will end up cheesy as hell if they overdue it

By the way, ID software also mencioned the Quake movie, just keep Uwe Boll away from it, I swear that man has the cinematographic death touch Laughing

ugh...it doesn't look like it's gonig to be that good. i'll be surprised it it ends up really good.
schudder
When I heard about this movie several months ago (!), I noticed the director, it was the same guy who's already screwed up several movies, (losely) based on games.

Luckily they changed directors, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, however, I feel it'll be like the game, only with less story. Basically: shoot, bash, sufficate, tear apart, shoot some more, die, shoot again, really die and so on...

If you like that sort of thing: great!

Not for me though :p
