I used the same username and password used in logging into the cpanel but I 'm still denied access. I tried to look for phpmyadmin directory so I could edit the config file but it doesn't show up in ftp.
How do you access phpmyadmin?
cpanel, mysql, phpadmin is at the bottom of that page
Have you tried logging out, exiting your browser (to wipe cached auth), and logging in to cpanel again?

when I'm logged into my cpanel, I go to mySQL Databases, and click on the link phpMyAdmin at the bottom of the page. this should work, I think.
oh, here's another unique idea:
Why not log into your cpanel, then search for the icon containing mysql and not the other DB option, then vertically scroll the page down and click the php admin link?

how do I login my cpanel? >_< I tried logging in using my direct admin username and password but it says they're invalid

maybe... new users have this new admin panel. when my account details were mailed to me, all i received were my DIRECT ADMIN username and password which is the same with my ftp. (http://yourname.frih.net:2222) you guys have cpanel. we user direct admin. and I can now also access my phpmyadmin but with a database specific user. i login using a user for a certain database and not the root user itself. i guess that would work for me although now i wish i found this site earlier so i could have availed of the cpanel. =P

That's what I said
Login to you cpanel: http://namewebsite.frihost.net/cpanel. This is the way I log into my cpanel. Use the link of your website, and /cpanel after it. Maybe this works?

Sorry, didn't know that.
Go to you DirectAdmin home. Click under 'Your Account' on the link 'MySQL Management'. Then, click under 'Create new Database' on the link 'phpMyAdmin' and.. then type your username and password in the pop-up window. And if I'm right, your phpMyAdmin is loaded now. And I think your username and password have you got from frihost.

yes gonzo, if you would read some of the other posts on this forum you would know that we have 2 servers running now, and the other one runs directadmin, NOT cPanel...
anyways, blutenshi, if the previous post didnt help you, try looking here http://www.site-helper.com/ and if you still don't manage to get on, PM bondings or another administrator

Nope, it isn't. You have to create a new database and set a user and password for it. Then you login phpmyadmin with that user and password but you only have privilage to the database the user is assigned to. No root user for me T_T.
Have you created a database? If so, you should got a database name, username and password. these you should use for phpmyadmin, I thought. But maybe i'm not right, and goes it otherwise concerning directadmin.
It's quite normal that you don't have root access to all availabe databases on the server.
But according to what you said, you are able to access phpadmin, just not with your main account password?

I think they mean 'root access' like with the phpMyAdmin in cPanel; you can see ALL of the databases you've created. I'm not sure if this is possible with DirectAdmin...
Have you tried logging in to phpMyAdmin with your DirectAdmin username and password?
i have the same problem here.
i can't acces my phpadmin. i had already changed the password they have me by creating my subforum to one who was easier for me to remember but still nothing. i can't log in myphpadmin, no matter what password i use. not the original one that came with the subsforum, not the one i changed the password into, not the one i use to log into my own account, nothing.
any idea how i can get in it, but wondering something. being new at thise, what can you do in phpadmin?

You need to use the username/password of a database. (first create one)

The point of searching is to find an answer as was previously given here and in many other topics. Not to just search for a related topic, NOT read it and post your problem.
