Image gallery / host ... what's the difference?

EtherealDesert
Have I just read it wrong, or are image galleries not permitted? If so... why does Fantastico have those Image Galleries available?

In: http://frihost.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12880

Bondings mentioned "no image host's" but + "image galleries". What's the big difference?

dont u both dare start again Laughing

anyways, to answer your question EtherealDesert, an image host is something like www.imageshack.us, where you can host images so that they can be hotlinked or anything... you cannot use frihost as an imagehost, and hotlinking is banned (afaik)

an image gallery on the other hand helps you host your private (or public) images for anyone...it will run off your site, and you have complete (almost) control over it. and yes, you can have themes for it Razz. example image gallery, rather ugly i might add, is here: http://sitemaker.umich.edu/image.gallery.example/display_images. I myself use Gallery v2 as my image gallery.

any other question, REGARDING THIS TOPIC?

I blog using blogger. I need to post images there and so need to host them. I use BlogJet which ftps to post images. So if I use my ftp account of Frihost will I be penalised? Also do you know any image host offering free ftp access.
