Does someone know a good computer firewall which allows me to block certain IPs?
I prefer a ligth one, since I'm already using windows firewall to block ports.
If someone knows how to do it directly from the operating system, using windows server, it will be better.
I think the best free firewalls are based on Linux.
It has a built in firewall, and uses a text based file for making the rules.
And you can add or remove rules using the command line.
If you don't know linux at all, then perhaps you can set up a test server and use google to find help on configuring it.
Josso, very usefull answer. I'm applying it right now.
I'm using it over 3 years.
It is free version also.
It will looks like a paid one.
I would recommend Sygate Personal Firewall, just as User_X did above. It can block certain ports and certain IP addresses, so it has the two features (along with many others) that you need. It's also very light on the system resources; it doesn't even slow down a computer that was built last millennium. I would also recommend disabling Windows Firewall since running two firewalls usually causes stability problems.
Personal computer operating systems include software-based firewalls to protect against threats from the public Internet. Its a technological barrier designed to prevent unauthorised or unwanted communications between computer networks or hosts
