which ftp program do u use?
i think that smartftp is great it's easy and free!!!
also i like the flash fxp program it's fast.. and u can get into a hacked servers!
for uploading forums and pictures .. smartftp is the best!

Cheers. I hadn't heard of smartftp but since you suggested it I'll give it a go.
Smart didn't work properly so now I use Filezilla 
Core FTP lite works fine for me. You should have an "other" option if your only going to have two options.
filezilla is good choice... but i think its usefull to switch between them..
sometimes the environment flashfxp have is good.. sometimes you deal better with filezilla and so on

Im afraid im new to web design. I heard form a friend that Dreamweaver was good software to use and that it can be used for FMT. To this end, i have come up with www.andrewlamb.net but it is work in progress and i have many many things i dont like about the one page i have made!
Do all the other FMT programs work in the same way as dreamweaver or are there some that allow you to design the page using something simple like front page and save it to local disk and then upload?
Might make my life easier!

I use FileZilla... I didn't knew about that ones
In windows , I always use FlashFXP,and in linux , I use Lftp
I use CoreFTP its good enough for me

I use mc (midnight commander) - best FTP/file manager ever (for Unices)
On Windows (i rarely work on Windows, but sometimes I do, when visiting family or something like that), I would use Total Commander, because it is similar to mc, but it is not free. So I use filezilla, which is also wonderful FTP client, but lacks the filemanager features.
And on a real computer, there is always the
command...

One very good ftp cliente I use is TotalCommander's built in Ftp, that have two pannels, one the remote site and one the local directory and upload or download files is as simple as copy flies in your local machine.
