The Magnificent Monuments of Hampi in India

Hampi is the best place to visit in the heart of Karnataka on of the biggest state in south India. It is the place full of monuments, tourist attraction and full of entertainment place where anyone can lose them. It is the place which attracts tourists mostly in the cool months of November to March being a peak season.

The name of hampi and its neighboring areas are also mentioned in the Hindu epic Ramayana by the name of Kishkinda, the monarchy of the monkey gods. Hampi has hundreds of monuments, and it is very difficult to describe all the monuments in details.

Some of the monuments are Virupaksha temple, one of the oldest structure in Hampi and also the main point in Hampi Bazaar. This temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva and situated on the south bank of the river Tungabadra. It is also said that the goddess Lakshmi takes her morning bath just down the way by the river ghats. The Goddess Lakshmi blesses the attendant for a coin. After that towards the south of the Virupaksha temple there is a Hemakuta Hill, full of monumental sculptures of Lord Narsimha who was the man-lion manifestation of Lord Vishnu.

On the eastern end of the Hampi Bazaar there is one more monument known by the name of Vittala Temple. It is also the temple to see and attracts the visitors to see it. On the track to the right leads over the rocks to deserted Sule Bazaar which is known by the earliest Hampi’s centre of trade. On the little southern area of this place is known by the Achyutaraya Temple, this is the temple dedicated to the Lord Tiruvengalanatha who is the form of Lord Vishnu. This temple and a market street which is placed in the front of this in a semi sheltered valley created by the two hills namely the Gandhamadana and Matanga hills. It is the place providing the full entertainment for the lovers of rock climbing.

How to Reach
Hampi is situated in the centre of the state Karnataka; it is extremely well linked by all Bus and train services. There are numerous buses from the Goa and Bengaluru till the hampi bazaar. There are many private sleeper buses are also available to and from Goa. It is also very connected by railhead. Cheap air tickets to Goa can be purchased from any flight booking agency. Nearly all major domestic air lines operate their regular cheap flights to Bangalore and also provide air ticket booking facility through their website.

Where to Stay
As Hampi have hundreds of monuments so it provides accommodation facilities accordingly. It offers many hotel facilities with 24 hours services. It is the place which offers tremendous facilities that suites the traveler. Online hotel booking facilities are also widely available. As this place is associated by some religious thoughts also, it provides primarily the vegetarian cuisine. Some of the hotels and guest houses are Shanthi Guest House, Gopi Guest House, Pushpa Guest House, Padma Guest House, Sudha Guest House and many more nearby the place.
