connect my speakers to computer. I have these old speakers which you can connect to CD player. These speakers how lose wires that you directly plug in to the CD player unlike the 3.5mm pin that we use in computers. What is the solution can anyone help?
Well, in theory you could splice the wires into a 3.5 mm jack, but depending on the wattage of the speakers, you will unlikely be able to get any meaningful sound out of them from just your computer (unless the audio out ports on your computer are amplified).
Basically, you need an amplifier to make this work. You connect your computer to the amplifier, it takes the low power signal from the PC and amplifies it to usable levels. The signal is then outputted to the speakers and then you have sound.
So, you could either get an inexpensive amplifier that can take a 3.5 mm or RCA input, or do what I did and build your own amplifier. It's actually pretty easy conceptually (though aggravating at times) and a good learning experience.
