Stop - Word

Budil
Hi everyone!

Where online to check site for the stop-word?

Thanks in advance.

The Wikipedia article had a reference to the webpage:

http://armandbrahaj.blog.al/2009/04/14/list-of-english-stop-words/

which seems to give a couple of quite reasonable lists. I would think one of those would be a good place to start, but you would probably want to tune it a bit by hand after experimenting with some full-text searches. The ideal list would vary considerably depending upon the content of the documents being searched and the subject areas you are searching about.

I have often wondered about search qualifiers like subject: Chemisty which would not expect to see the word chemistry in the text necessarily, but imply that the context related to chemistry. I don't believe any search engines can reliably determine contexts like that though. Maybe IBM's Watson is beginning to get some insight in that direction.
