- How do you do that?
- Well most of their words they have got from C!!
Besides that now I work as DBA and am mostly in databases stuff - SQL Server, Interbase, Firebird...

of course the languages cause
1)MySQL is an open source relational database management system althjough i would say it is because of teh commands you use within php
e.g. INSERT UPDATE etc.
2)css is anot as such a language
quote from google:

|
Abbreviation for Cascading Style Sheet, a feature of HTML developed by the W3C. With Cascading Style sheets, both web designers and end users can create style templates (sheet) that specifies how different text elements (paragraphs, headings, hyperlinks, etc.) appear on a web page. Currently, not all browsers express CSS formatting in the same manner. |
but i would say it is a language its hard to explain y but hell who cares

-C++, my favorite! you can do almost everything and nearly lots of the best programs, OS, are made with this language.
-Visual C++, is based on c++ (obviusly) but has an easier interface, i personal prefer to use Dev-C++ for w32 projects.
-Pascal, i learned it becouse c++, it's good, but t o strict (structure languages
).
-Assembler, the hardest language to learn
, i'm going to learning it for an electronic project, is an old language, but is still useful.
-Perl, i tried to learning it when using linux, but i get bored with it, i prefer to use another language.
-Java and javascript, i think that the first is being used for many developers, and is easier that c++ (i think). javascript (for web) is very easy, but i don't use it at all.
-PHP, i really like this language, but i have not learn it yet, is really interesting.
-QBasic, for programming my calculator (TI
)
-HTML, must be known for all..

In the order that I learned and used them to any serious degree:
Assembly Language (Pic, Motorola, x86)
Ladder Logic - Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
C/C++
Visual Basic (VB6)
Javascript/ECMAScript/DHTML
And a little bit of this and that not worth mentioning. Still much more to learn
I'm really late in the game w/r to the web related stuff, writing software for exe/dll (and similar) just seems easier for me.

- TI-83/TI-83+
Know little of :
- CSS
- JavaScript
- Visual Basic
That's about it for me.
Edit :
Just read a few replies above mine, I had totally forgotten about the programming language for the TI-83/TI-83+ calculator lol.
I added that to my "A lot of" list above, as I made a few pretty good games with it.

I read a post above, that html, css as programming languages. I don't know what to say, there are no if's or while's there, we can't make dynamic anythind, it's like drawing something with a pen and then talkning about the lines from the drawing as a programming language..
What do you think?

DHTML, HTML. What's the diffrence between html and php?
php is a server side language.
A page written in php must be parsed first by a php interpreter before returning the response to client browser (for instance php module for apache does this).
This is why when you try right click->view source no php code is seen.
What you see is html, hyper text markup language.

- English (Only spoken language I know)
- PHP (w/ MySQL or PostGreSQL)
- ASP (w/ ADO)

- JavaScript
- VBScript
I used to know stuff like Perl and Cobol and other shyte (only cuz of school) but I don't use them and I almost forget everything about them now, so... Half of them I learned on my own, but the better half I learned in school while getting my Degree in CIS.
Heh, I'm just now learning C++, know a bit of VB, and I'm pretty good with HTML.
These I know:
C++/C, visual C++, PHP, Java, Pascal/Delphi, python, VB, LISP, SQL, CSS, HTML, JavaScript.
Quite a lot... and still counting, assembler and perl are on there way, and after that i might learn cobal.

some shell stuff; bash csh ksh, etc.
perl
php
wrote alot in perl in the win & *nix worlds great sytems tool.
just finishing up a catalog/shopping cart mail-bot in php for my first attempt at php.
They're not really languages but, i've created documents using html, xhtml, xml & css
Soon as this website's done I'd like to try lisp and ada. Probably won't until the need arises. Never really wanted to be a progammer but enjoy coding. When a need arises; I figure you learn the tools needed to do the job then forget as much of it as you can. If you're gonna code all day, you really can't help learning a little bit.
Why try to remember it all when it's all on the internet or in books? as you get older the brain begins to fill up and for each new thing you learn and retain i figure you gotta give up one childhood memory. My childhood/teenage years were the sixties there isn't a lot remembered from that time anyway, kinda like to keep what I got.
learn to analyze and solve problems and then the language can be researched and used that fits
