Special nVidia Drivers?

weableandbob
Hello, I came into possession of an nVidia GTX 480 the other day, but it's from nVidia itself, not one of their normal manufacturers like XFX or EVGA. Because of that, I want to know if I need any sort of special drivers for it, or if the standard ones will work. I'm pretty sure the standard ones would be fine, but I just want to be sure.

Congrats on your nVidia graphics card.
The usual standard drivers should work alright, although if there is some incompatibility, it will tell you during the installation itself.
try getting the drivers for a slightly higher model, which could be better for your card's performance, but this doesnt always work.
In any case, if it doesnt, you can uninstall the drivers and try another set of drivers.

To find out the driver to download for your Nvidia graphics card use the Nvidia Driver Search

Ok, thanks. Turns out that the standard drivers work just fine.

You can get the standard drivers from the official Nvidia WebSite (obviously), or you can also try http://www.tweakforce.com/ which are modified drivers, usually you get better perfomance with those.
