When I installed a new style to my Windows XP I also got a new bootscreen. Now I don't want this bootscreen and where do I do that?
How to remove a bootscreen?
Hi,
You will need to replace the file "ntoskrnl.exe" with the normal XP one.
The "ntoskrnl.exe" file contains the logo. I can uplaod my XP Pro, one if you didnt make a backup before changing.

I found a couple of websites that have guides and show you how to do so. I myself never attempted to replace the bootscreen as I am content with default. However since you are the more adventurous one, check out these links:

Apparently StarDock, the creators of WindowsBlind, has a customizeable bootskin program which doesn't require any hard patches like the two links above.

to change that stuff i would recommend registry hacker. Its a great program. Once you learn how to use it, you can modify near anything.
there is also another cheat to change it:
go to your boot.ini and ad to the bootrow the option
"/bootlogo /noguiboot "
at the end, this looks like this in the end
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="MS Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect /NoExecute=Optin /bootlogo /noguiboot
that put a picture with this settings in your windowsfolder:
Name: boot.bmp
REsolution: 640 x 48
Colors: 4bit
then reboot and enjoy the new startscreen
BUT DO THIS ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT U ARE DOING!!!
And there is one other contra:
If you want do check your drive within the booting, then you should shut this off or make a second settingup without the bootlogo, cause if you use the logo there will be no scandisk been shown in bootingtime
I did this that way, the first as standard, and the second if I use scandisk on windowsstart
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="MS Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect /NoExecute=Optin /bootlogo /noguiboot
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="MS Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect /NoExecute=Optin
hope this helps
