I would like to quote this from http://www.buzzle.com/articles/natural-acne-cures-home-remedies/

I have used a few these and i find them very effective.
According to the site, "Some Natural Anti-Acne Products you will find in the market
Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Zinc, and Vitamin A are some natural products that have been used with some success to cure Acne. A word of caution about 'natural' skin care items. They often contain certain chemicals for preservation purposes. Some of these may not be advisable for you if you're pregnant or have certain special health considerations. As mentioned, it is best to consult with your doctor before embarking on any therapy.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree from Australia. It is very effective against Acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called Terpenes. Acne is often caused by bacteria and the Terpenes either outright kill them or weaken them enough to be destroyed by protective antibodies. There are very little side effects from using Tea Tree Oil.

Aloe Vera
The watery gel from Aloe Vera plant is also a highly effective natural cure against Acne. The enzyme-rich gel has very soothing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can also be taken internally and helps clean up and detox the digestive tract. This in turn can help clear up the skin.

Zinc
Zinc is taken in the form of capsules. It helps to strengthen the human immune system and to repair the skin.

Vitamin A
Vitamin A tablets are also a natural and effective Acne cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E also helps in countering Acne. It is a natural antioxidant and beneficial for the skin. Vitamin E comes in soft gelatin capsules that contain Vitamin E, Soybean Oil, Glycerin, and Water.

Some Natural Homemade Cures to counter Acne
The most important thing to do if you suffer from Acne is to drink at least four pints of water every day. Drinking a lot of water is very beneficial to your skin. Including fresh fruit and leafy green vegetables in your daily diet will also bring about a marked improvement in the quality of your complexion.

Before bathing, apply a mixture of tomato pulp real tomota pulp, not packaged one honey and rose-water to your face and keep for twenty minutes before washing off.

At night, before going to bed, apply a mix of cream, glycerine, and lemon juice to your face and again keep it on for a short while before washing.

Regular Yoga exercises will also improve skin and overall health.

Things to Avoid
Avoid touching your face all the time, keep your hair away from your face, and avoid picking at pimples.

Another important thing if you're prone to Acne is to avoid using heavy make-up in fact, it is preferable to avoid make-up altogether. For an effective cure, stay as natural as possible."

Plus to add, i think the best way to avoid pimples is to have a good night's sleep. Having enough rest rids you off pimples.

Accutane cured by acne when I was younger. Don't believe the scaremongers, it is completely safe unless you are pregnant or depressed.

I decided to go on accutane after reading about it beauty-expert Paula Begoiun's books and her highly recommending it.

Or you have a bad liver. Most of the time they do prescribe benzyol peroxide first or some Tetracyclines.

Bondings
Some people swear by the 'miracle' solution of placing a fresh towel (every day a new/washed one) on your pillow.

I don't think it is really that good, but it might provide the extra help that is needed to get rid (or reduce) the acne. And it doesn't cost much.

You can't really 'clean away' acne and true acne vulgaris (as opposed to a few pimples on the face) may require antibiotic creams or tablets. Speaking to your doctor would be the best option. If treatments don't work then you may be referred to a dermatologist.

As for home remedies, there are a lot of products and suggestions available but I've never heard of any successful stories.

There are some good natural remedies for acne
Nameless
I'm 90% sure that 90% of natural remedies are complete nonsense that only get passed around due to confirmation-bias, but I can at least vouch for tea tree oil. A few years ago I had very bad acne and tried a few different things; nothing really prevented it, but using tea tree oil made a noticeable difference in how long it took for any given pimple to heal.

How did you apply the oil? Did you dilute it or use it neat? Did you take it internally as well?

Hope this would be of help: http://www.acne.org/

Some of the things to be kept in mind if you have pimples are:

1. Always keep your face clean. Wash your face as soon as you come home from outside.

2. Do not pop the pimples unless there are safety ensured.

3. Use the correct type of creams and lotions which suit to your skin type.

4. Don not use your nails on the pimples.

5. Avoid oily and fat rich foods.

Following all the above steps would help s to get rid of pimples upto an extend..

How did you apply the oil?[/quote]
I (well, my mother) bought it in a little bottle and I just dabbed it on any bad spots.
