Internet connection is running at 11kbps :x

Emulation
Hi all, I'm new to this website, and was just wondering if anyone could throw me a solution as to why my internet is only running at 11kbps Confused My network card is a Intel WiFi 5100 AGN, and it will accept a/b/g connections, but I'm currently downloading a game, and the download speed will not go past 200KBpS.

The download speed depends on many factors. You only mentioned your network card but the connection you use is probably more important. The server you download from could have a slow connection or it might have more than one client to send data to so you all have to share the server's bandwidth. 200kBps is not unusual low for something you download over the Internet.

First of all , what speed is your ISP saying they will give for your connection ?

11kbps is slow but 200 KBps is quite fast

kbps means kilo bits per second
KBps is Kilo Bytes per second

1 KBps = 8 kbps

So, if your ISP gives you a 2 mbps connection

2 mbps = (2 x 1024) kbps = 2048 kbps = (2048/Cool KBps = 256 KBps

So maximum speed of 256 KB per second

Do a speed test at speedtest.net or similar website to get your actual speeds
