cybersa
This is an Android thread.

Here you can ask anything about android like:
Android updates,
Android Mobile for high & low price,
Help for your android device,
Root for your device,
etc....

Removed 'official' from the thread. Only staff members are supposed to make official topics. -ocalhoun

i thought when you open a topic with "official" in the title, it must be better than what were already in xda...

why don't you just open a topic about xda then? at least it will not be a complete waste.
cybersa
I opened the topic with official because here you can ask about android in one place.
No need to create new topic.

Still not made?

Depending on your Hardware, some Linux-Distributions could work. But i wouldn't try this. Which specs has your tablet?

@badai: Try SuperOneClick. This tool can root much smartphones, maybe the Incredible S, too.

@portosk: AndNav and NavDroyd. NavDroyd works offline with OpenStreetMaps. Smile

@cybersa: You can't upgrade the first Galaxy Tab with 3.0. Honeycomb doesn't support 7-inch tablets officially and the Galaxy Tab is too slow for it. Gingerbread is more than good enough for it. Smile

I think, this Topic is no good idea. Too much questions, too much chaos in answers. One thread for one question is better...

I don't know if Honeycomb supports my tab's hardware. For what i know, Honeycomb is optimized for dual core processors. Anyway, guess ill just buy the 10.1 and sell my old one once Ice cream is released. That way, ill enjoy the full feature of the said Update. Anyway, I came across a website and found these things that are working with honeycomb with samsung galaxy tab 7". I'll guess ill just have to wait until it's officially supported.

---
Here is the list of the features that are up and running:
A fully working tablet marketplace.
Maps, places and street view.
Gmail.
Working audio (it needs work, but it’s there.)
The last version of voodoo sound integrated into the kernel.
The voodoo sound control app
A couple of widgets from the Asus Transformer.
A setup wizard that Allows you to select your language at startup.
A tablet keyboard that makes text entry easier apk.
EMS access, just plug it in to any PC and your SD should auto mount.
Multi Touch.
And a handful of stability and speed fixes.
Of course there is also a video, which, though to my first “Quick ‘n dirty” recalls YouTube videos, but you have an idea of the functionality:

I have motorola defy with 2.2 froyo android operating system., is their any app which can help me get my mobile work fast as it hangs up more often. It needs to start up again and again by removing battery as all buttons stop working as it hangs. Its not rooted as I dont know how to root a device yet. Will rooting help in,speeding up my device?
cybersa
You don't need to get root for speed.
Just download Advance Task Killer from market,
Then Kill the running apps run on background.
Because many apps will run on background without knowing to you.
Kill it and save the memory. Smile

How about this Android phone: Samsung Galaxy Mini. It equipped with Android 2.2 froyo. Can it be upgrade to honeycomb or the latest Ice cream??

why would you want to do that, It's linux based:
Wikipedia wrote:
Android consists of a kernel based on the Linux kernel, with middleware, libraries and APIs written in C and application software running on an application framework which includes Java-compatible libraries based on Apache Harmony.

that would be like running UNIX on a MAC.

anywayz: here's a topic on rooting an android: LINK

@malaysia: Most phone's will have an update tool, I've got a LG OPtimus One and it runs on 2.3.3 (used to be 2.2)
LG's got this updater tool and every time a new release is available for my model I will get a message telling me I can upgrade my firmware.

I wouldn't update any android if I wasn't sure that runs stable
