My Router Crashes. Can I find out what causes it.

Possum
Hi

I have a Netgear DG834. About once every 2 days it crashes. Is there a way for me to find out what is causing the crashes.

Also are there any Routers that can recover from a crash and get going again with out me having to turn it off, then on again.

Cheers Possum

Could be... I usually call them if the d/c is lasting for too long (couple of hours), and they often tell me it's a problem on their side after they run some kind of a test.

a lot of different things can cause no or limited connection and the only way to isolate the trouble is by troubleshooting.
what exactly do you mean with crashing? because I never heard of a router "crashing" without being faulty.
are you getting an ip from the router but no internet connection?
did you reboot the DSL modem?
are you getting no connection at all?
are you connected wired or wireless?
most of the times a reboot solves the problem with these home routers.
I worked for a mayor US telecommunications company for 5 years supporting EMEA customers and I can only say that DSL is ****.
