I am trying to use Knoppix from the CD on my Windows XP Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop. I set up the BIOS so that the computer will boot from the CD. Everything seemed to be working fine. I restarted the computer with Knoppix in the CD drive, and I successfully got the boot screen when the computer started up. However, when I try to boot, the computer just stops. The screen goes blank and Knoppix will not load. No matter what options I try to boot with, this always happens. The same CD works perfectly on my desktop. Does anyone know what I could do to make Knoppix work on the laptop?
problem with Knoppix on a Windows laptop
does it do anything like do you get to a screen that says
with like a knoppix logo above it
if so you might wanna try using frame buffer mode (fb800x600) or (fb1024x768)
which sets the resolution manually...
