Do you like Magic?
What's your favorite magic?

I like Magic very much.
I know some card Magic.
I like Card Magic.

After a long period,I'm going to do magic again.
menino
I think card magic is actually called card tricks.

I love card tricks. SOme of it requires a lot of calculations and also fast hands.
I love the illusions created with a playing deck of cards.

I used to love the David Copperfield shows, where he made a sports car disappear, an elephant disappear, and even the statue of Liberty.
I used to be really perplexed and mesmerised by his shows mainly.
There were other magicians / illusionists as well, but Copperfield left an impact.

URI GELLER has started a serie here in sweden, porbably done in many countries, called phenomen. Mentalism mostly - URI is a fraud but the serie is quite fun actually!

So i go for the mentalism part of magic .

I like card tricks, but am more into tricks than magic. Unless it is to entertain kids. Then it can be really fun.

I don't think I believe in magic in real life BUT i definitely like magic TRICKS! i also really like playing characters that deal with magic in video games!
speeDemon
ah..... Who doesnt?

I love magic! Always have tried to learn new stuff, though I always forget stuff.
Tricks are a nice way to entertain just about anyone, but practice is a must, if you're lousy and everyone understands what's really happening(even though they know it's not 'magic', they still can't figure out how it's being done a lot of times) then it's just a waste of a technique!

I like watching magic tricks-the art of deception or mis-direction. I enjoyed watching magician Doug Henning.

I like magic very much. I have seen some of the P C Sirkar's greatest shows. I know some card tricks

Card tricks can be impressive, but you wouldn't believe the number of practical applications you get out of a simple magic missile spell. Want a lady's attention in a bar? Magic missile. Get your frisbee stuck in a tree? Magic missile. Spot a cockroach in your bathroom? You know what to do.

... Card tricks aren't really impressive at all.

Yeah, I like MAGIC...!

I like all kinds of Magic which don't harm any living creatures... Risky magic I don't like too much. I also heard of BLACK MAGIC which I don't like because I'm not sure but I heard about this a lot this black magic is specially used to harm other people so I don't like that too much but I'm not sure that that Black Magic is exists or not in this world...!

I know exactly "0" magicians that harm helpless creatures. If you were a magician that harmed helpless creatures then your rise to fame would be unbelievably fast in this country, but you'd be famous for the wrong reason, and no one would come to your shows except to stand outside and yell at you!

Do you have magic acts that harm animals in your country?

He's probably talking about voodoo and that kind of magic, and not tricks and 'fun' stuff that are crowd pleasing and entertaining. I'm not quite sure if voodoo sums it up, but there are people who basically sacrifice animals in the name of gods, and their mystical magical powers and stuff, that's what I understood.
IceCreamTruck
Ah, he's not a black magic user... could be blue or red... I doubt he's a white though... maybe. We'll see when he completes the training! Smile

That's not how secrets work.

Hi,

I like magic, because there is science behind it.

Magic uses many principles of science, persistence of vision/sound, etc

I know some magic, with match sticks - which jumps by itself on bare hands.

I like to study more tricks.
Niels
I like tricks I've never seen before.
I have seen so mutch card tricks that I doesn't intrests me anymore.

Not really... When I was 12 years old, I do had a "Magic is cool and interesting" moment as there was a show on tv with a magic mystery man, he always wore a mask:

He first performed and did the trick then afterwards he did it again but showing it to the camera... It made me realize that there was no such thing as Magic which put me off my "Magic is cool and interesting" moment. Smile

I knew him.
I watched his show on tv.

I thought the same thing, Dean. Is this the guy that kills magic that you guys are talking about? He's a very bad person! Pray
CheDragon
I like it, it is really amazing. I always wonder how they do it, some tricks are quite easy to explain, but others not. Chris angel for example does some amazing things

Right. Maybe we need a pony specialist (Fluttershy) to appeal to the better side of him ..... *grin*

The masked Magician.

Obviously magicians don't like him,but its interesting to find out how all those tricks you watched growing up are actually done.

Define Magic. I like the types of magic in books, novels, series, etc. I once wrote this very long paper about how different books violated the different laws of physics and the universe in different ways. It was an English paper, so I could pretty much get away with an absurd amount of bull shit. I did put effort into it though. One of the topics was about how Charms class in Harry Potter violated the laws of thermodynamics.

Anyways, as far as I know, there is no better author who writes fantasy with free magic as well as Garth Nix.

I probably completely killed this topic...

Ocalhoun explained that we are called Bronies. I've looked it up in the Urban Dictionary and it goes something like this:
Quote:
A name typically given to the male viewers/fans (whether they are straight, gay, bisexual, etc.) of the My Little Pony show or franchise. They typically do not give in to the hype that males aren't allowed to enjoy things that may be intended for females.

Other spellings: Bronie
Plural spellings: Bronies
Female 1: Have you seen the My Little Pony cartoon?
Female 2: Yes! It's so cute and awesome!
Male 1: I've seen it as well.
Female 1: You're the coolest brony ever!
IceCreamTruck
LMAO! Bronies... what will they think of next! (FYI my spell checker doesn't like that one either)

magic tricks are really great, however if you watch or read too much revealings, the fun gets lost

If you only enjoy the illusion part of magic!!! I choose to enjoy much more than just the illusion of magic.

I like the mechanics of magic, both the engineering of the situation, and the engineering of people's perception is intriguing. Many tricks take great skill because your window of action is so small, or must remain hidden from view even though it's right in front of people's face.

Dig further into the mechanics... you will find it's as simple and as complex as a piano. Magic is, in this regard, like a song. Some songs are more complex than others, and some require great skill to perform. That is why we can label magicians as good or bad magicians. Some stick to the typical range of tricks, which is great ... for children's parties. What if your audience is Magicians... what tricks you would show them would hopefully distinguish yourself as creative and thinking outside the box.

Chris Angel is not a talented magician in my eyes. He's an extremely talented performer who uses illusion and outside the box thinking on old tricks to make a ton of money, so he's laughing at any dirt we could try and throw at his really suspect magical talent which he has yet to prove anything to me other than he is a good illusionist.

I saw a movie called The Illusionist, that was really great from a "magic" point of view. How to use illusion to trick people in thinking you are there when you aren't.

Yeah, I thought about Edward Norton when I said "The Illusionist" as well. He did really well in acting the roll in that movie, and I generally like his work. I need to see this movie again, however, because I don't remember the plot.
