MySQL.com suffers attack

During the last weekend, the site MySQL.com Oracle was the target of an SQL injection attack carried out by a pair of hackers known as "TinKode" and "Ne0h" which published on the Web logins and passwords site users.

They did not provide many technical details about the attack, but listed vulnerable areas: mysql.com, mysql.fr, mysql.de, and www-mysql.it jp.mysql.com.

According to a posting on the last Full Disclosure Sunday, March 27, the wheel MySQL.com a variety of databases on a web server with Apache. The information disclosed by hackers include a portion of the hashes of passwords, some of which have been broken.

Among the user credentials are posted on the web passwords Administrators of corporate blogs of two former officials and MySQL others. Those responsible for these blogs were Robin Schumacher (Director for product management) and Kaj Arno (Vice President of relations with the community). Schumacher now works at EnterpriseDB, while Arno who now works at SkySQL.

The Sucuri, a security company that tracks attacks on Web sites, recommended that all users with accounts in exchange their MySQL.com passwords as quickly as possible, especially if those passwords too are used on other sites.
