Distributed rendering in Cinema 4D

Has anyone tried this? My friend has a hexacore AMD CPU but is still looking for ways decrease the render times. I read about NetRender and it sounds like a feasible solution especially since he has an older desktop which he can use.

It's just the name of the software.

My interpretation:
It's a play on the concept of 3D; the modeling and animations are just that realistic.

Check out the gallery here.

Cinema 4D is a 3d modeling software. If you are asking what the '4D' stands for, I don't know that.

4D usually refers to the forth dimension (which I can only assume is the intention here). The forth dimension deals with what is commonly referred to as time. Which is relevant to Cinema 4D as it handles animation and not just static 3D rendering.
