Your favorite DIY site/project?

I had a difficult time deciding where to put this ('Jobs and Learning', 'Websites' and 'Hobbies') but this place seemed the most appropriate, esp with the project part.

I have a quite a few DIY sites I visit for various projects. DIY projects are beneficial in many ways.
A) It could be cheaper than buying (not the case for me, as I end up splurging on materials and things usually end up around similar price)
B) Sometimes they just don't sell what you need (one example of this is the ultimate notebook)
C) Very Educational. During the process of making something, you get a great insight of how things work as well. Not to mention new appreciation for quality products.
D) Fun with capital F, U, and D.

Here are some of the websites I use.

Lifehacker is great. It has so many DIY projects ranging in so many fields that it can be quite a distraction. They usually in text/picture format with occasional videos.
My two favorite projects from lifehacker are the ultimate note taking notebook mentioned above, and no-kill mousetrap using an empty toilette paper roll

Neat little niche sites that has video tutorials on how to make things. Oldschool. Ranging from operating a tinderlighter to building a coracle to making charcoal.
My favorite ones were 'How calligraphy pens work' and 'How to make a leather belt'

Haven't used it since they introduced ads and smaller videos, but this used to be my go-to site. I especially enjoy their cooking videos.

Hi, I use a messageboard at www.diynot.com which is fantastic..lots of pro's on there, freely giving out tips and advice, so lots of jobs at home are now possible....the last 3 times my washing machine broke down I fixed it myself, with help from that site....in the past I'd have thrown the machine for the problems it had, and bought another, so technically I have saved myself 3 times the money.
It's a UK based site, but most of it is applicable wherever you are.

Lifehacker is the only one of those that I've come across before. I seem to remember being impressed by the name when I first found it.

It's pretty much the approach that many people take to life.
