Top 5 sci-fi series

scorpionx
I`m a seriesyonki and my favorites of sci-fi series are...

1) Stargate (SG1+Atlantis+Universe)
2) Heroes
3) Angel
4) Seven Days
5) X-Files
Radar
1) Doctor Who
2) Firefly
3) Red Dwarf
4) Lost in Space
5) Torchwood

I feel like this isn't in the proper order and is forgetting some important ones... in reference to the previous post, I'm not counting Angel as sci-fi. Otherwise, it would be in that five.

Doctor Who and Firefly definitely towards the top though.

My 5 favourite sci fi serials are as follows :-

1. Stargate Atlantis
2. Stargate SG-1
3. Firefly
4. Heroes
5. Stargate Universe

I don't know if you have to combine all the stargate series to one, but I loved stargate atlantis more than stargate sg1 and universe. I wished that they didnt stop it, and even Firefly was good.

Can't really choice, without order:
  • Battlestar Galactica (reimagined series)
  • Firefly (in correct order)
  • The X-Files (first 5-7 seasons)
  • Babylon 5
  • Star Trek TNG
And runnerups:
  • Fringe
  • Eureka
  • Stargate SG-1
  • Star Trek DS9
  • Star Trek TOS
  • Star Trek Enterprise
  • Stargate Atlantis
  • Star Trek Voyager
  • Star Trek TNG
  • Twilight Zone
  • Quantum Leap
  • ...and so on...

See, this is what I find odd. Never having been a Trekkie, and never having seen any Stargate, having multiple series based around the same concept seems, on face value, a tad redundant to me? I realise it's almost certainly not, and that each series will bring something unique to the mix, different characters, or a different twist on the same premise. Or perhaps I just find it overwhelming, from an outsider's/beginner's perspective.

End of tangent.

Yes Radar, a true trekkie fan or stargate fan will tell you the differences between all.
One trekkie fan told me the difference between star trek DS9, Enterprise Voyager, is the sectors in space quadrants that they are exploring.
Main thing I love about them is the new kinds of species that they come across, and how they deal with them, and also every scenario is kind of new.
Some may be copied from earlier serials, or even other episodes (not exactly), but still I find sci fi very entertaining, although I'm not a true fan, as I don't remember all the actors names, or even the earlier episodes.

CSI at least satisfies the "science" and "fiction" parts, but the show Friends was listed here too, and I thought that was weird. Nothing science fiction about Friends except "fiction"
