If you wanna trade you have the Marketplace board..
Correct me if i am mistaken but the Shop Mod for phpBB just adds funny effects and some new options to the users.. why would a hosting service forum need that?

nope ur wrong.
it enables user to create their own shops so you can sell things more "safely"
The shop mod is a rather heavy one.
at places, it can add as much as ~20% to the page generation/query execution time.
I don't think that the usability of that mod in this particular forum would justify the performance hit.
and as Helios said, the Marketplace forum is the place for the members to trade things for their FRIH$.
