"A prayer for Owen Meany"

Have anyone read the book "A prayer for Owen Meany"? Even though it talks about religion, I think it is appealing to most people, including non-religious ones. The book talks about many social issues, and even though I don't agree much with the author, I think it is a pretty fun book to read. So, have anyone read it?

I am reading it at the moment. Am still on page 200 or so and it has about 800 pages, but it looks very nice!
We are reading it with a literature club.

What is your opinion about the book?

Update: I finished the book and was doubting about it. I still have the book and am planning to reread it, but I don't have it on my shelve where anyone can see it. I'm not sure what to think of this book.
