What is the most Swedish behavior?

krusimax
I think its the constant behaviour towards not being to special but still be high on attention from others.
standready
Sorry, I am a bit confused. Could you explain your reasoning more?
deanhills
High standards in education? Most people think of Sweden when they do post-graduate studies of any kind. Also high standards of organization in any thing. Also the famous smorgas board.

Good question!

Yes - I got both university degree and another school at the same level (called highschool but is not highschool as in th US - just high school at the same level as the university) - I got other a third degree also at university level but in a type of guild-school.
So I got a post-graduate degree in mechanics, computing, economics, information - it is still a hell to get a job!!! Confused

in the 60s we were porn... still the label is attached????

Swedish meatballs??? (from turkey actually)

we are not polite but never shoot each other!
eday2010
Big-titted blondes eating meatballs and listening to ABBA and Ace of Base.
spinout
Ace of Base - oops I have forgotten about them. Here thay are famous for having a former nazi in the band, but ABBA we still remeber!!!
PGe-tips
spraying mosquito repellents, ans scratching their arms ...Smile
spinout
Real swedes don't use repellents Laughing We have some problems but there are worse places in the world regarding moquitos.
hunnyhiteshseth
A non-aggressive behaviour. Always ready to make compromises.
spinout
Yes! We talk hard language but not using so much bad words nor fighting.

I think we get rid of problems by talking hard, so it won't come to more than that.

I had a friend here once who was Swedish and she was exactly like that. Very passionate, honest and completely straight, always rocking people's boat, but without bad words nor fighting.

Swedish is similar as German? they can be known with each other?
spinout
Germany is also known for hard porn movies... Laughing Still the Swedish ones wasn't that hard from the beginning, not at all.

Germans are more like "driving their own cars" - we drive all cars. I can say that to the most european countries, Sweds are more open to foreign stuff.
frillaH
The typical behaviour of a swede is to make sure that no one intrude on "their space". We (yes, I am a Swede) are an inbound people, but of course there are those who isn't.

Then we have a food "issue" that's typical for Sweden. We (not all of us) eat rotten fish.... Smells like hell, and taste even worse (in my opinion).

Cheers all

Which fish are you talking about, herring? Is that typically Swedish, or consumed by quite a number of other countries? I know the Dutch like "rotten fish" as well..... and me too .... although I have not had herring for a long long time. Smile

Fermented fish is a worldwide phenomena, but "surströmming" is typically Swedish.

I'm curious, what is surstromming? How do they prepare it?
spinout
if I am correct surstromming is herring.
Herring has 2 names in Sweden depending on region - it is called Sill in the sounth and stromming north...

u buy surströmming in tin cans... once u pop it in a building well the whole house get smelly! Laughing

I was doing math-teaching in an education complex and in the cellar some people had a course fest, with surstromming. It took 5 mins before we all had to go out of the building.. Shocked Laughing

Thanks frillaH. That smell has to be really bad for everyone to comment so much on it. Hopefully the fermented herring is very healthy, as looks as though the fermentation is creating lactic acid and all other things that are super healthy? I for one would probably stay away from it. I am sensitive to smell, and don't think I would be able to eat food that smells bad.
